“The project involved an existing building that had basements at both ends but lacked one in the central section. Our task was to create a new basement in the middle to connect the two existing ones, essentially constructing a basement beneath a two-story structure.

We had to temporarily support the building, demolish its foundations and build new foundations 5m below and extend the existing columns and walls to reach the new foundations. To my knowledge, it was the first time this was done in Costa Rica and I believe it has only been done on one additional occasion on another building after that.”
